School Discipline

When a school seeks to discipline a student, there are certain rules and procedures they must follow. Often, parents are not aware of these rules, or of the rights their child has in the process.

For example, if a child faces significant discipline like a suspension, he or she has the right to due process. As a parent, you have a right to appeal the decision to the superintendent who will grant you an informal hearing.

In addition, if your child is classified for special education and related services, he/she is entitled to additional protections.

John Rue & Associates has successfully defended children in disciplinary proceedings in schools. To ensure that your child’s rights are not violated, and that you are in the best position to achieve a favorable outcome, call John Rue & Associates for an initial consultation.
